Keisha Sean Waites

The Dade County Democratic Committee congratulates Keisha Sean Waites as our party’s nominee for Insurance Commissioner.

There is an incumbent in this year’s race, Republican Commissioner John King. There will be a Libertarian candidate on the ballot in November.

Primary results from this race were as follows:

Keisha Sean Waites - 427,745 42.03%

Deandre Mathis - 201,602 19.81%

Clarence Blalock - 181,166 17.80%

AJ Jain - 122,294 12.02%

Thomas Dean - 84,925 8.34%

In Dade, Keisha Sean Waites won a plurality of the vote, 141 votes, or 36.25%.

In the runoff, the results were:

Keisha Sean Waites - 223,931 (58.7%)

Deandre Mathis - 157,548 (41.3%)

In Dade, Mr Mathis received a majority of the vote, 103 votes, 51.5%.
