The Dade County Democratic Committee proudly endorses Josh McLaurin as our party’s nominee for Lt Governor!

There will be no incumbent in the 2026 race for Governor. Current Lt. Governor Burt Jones (Rep) ran and lost the nomination for Governor on the Republican side. The Republican nominee for Lt Governor is Greg Dolezal.

Primary results from this race were as follows:

Josh McLaurin - 426,396 41.41%

Nabilah Parkes - 406,730 39.50%

Richard Wright - 196,478 19.08%

In the runoff, the results were:

Josh McLaurin - 210,693 54.88%
Nabilah Parkes - 173,203 45.12%

In Dade, Josh McLaurin received a majority with 207 votes (52.41%) during the primary, and increased that to 148 votes (74%) during the runoff.
