The Dade County Democratic Committee congratulates our State School Superintendent nominee, Lydia Powell!
There is a Republican incumbent in the position of State School Superintendent, that being Richard Woods. Woods is currently in a runoff for the Republican nomination.
Dr Powell won over 140 of 159 counties in Georgia. The results statewide were:
Powell - 511,131 (50.48%) ✅
Anthony - 301,799 (29.81%)
Thornton - 199,601 (19.71)
In Dade, Powell received a majority of 263 votes (67.96%)
